This Privacy Policy describes how Aquaon Inc. (“Aquaon”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects Personal Information when you visit or make a purchase through our website, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with our services (the “Service”). 1.1 Purpose.

This Policy is designed to comply with:

  • The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) (Canada’s federal private sector privacy law).
  • Provincial private sector laws, including the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Québec, as amended by Law 25) and the Personal Information Protection Acts (PIPA) of Alberta and British Columbia, where they are deemed substantially similar to PIPEDA or where they apply instead of PIPEDA.
  • We aim to adhere to the 10 Fair Information Principles under PIPEDA.

Anonymous / Aggregated Data: Data that cannot identify you, either directly or indirectly (e.g., summarized usage statistics of all customers).

  • Warranty/Product Registration Data: When you register a water filter or file a warranty claim, we collect product serial numbers, date of purchase, installation date, and service history to manage your product lifecycle.
  • Communications: Correspondence, comments, feedback, and support tickets when you contact us.
  • Marketing Data: Preferences when you subscribe to newsletters or promotions.

3.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you access our Service, the following data is collected:

  • Log & Usage Data: IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, referring/exit pages, access times, and operating system.

8.1 Retention Period.

We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected (e.g., maintaining your account, managing product warranties, complying with legal or accounting requirements).

8.2 Deletion / Anonymization.

Once the data is no longer necessary, we will securely delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer identify you.

8.3 Backup & Archival.

We may retain certain information for backup, archival, or regulatory compliance purposes, subject to applicable laws.

9.1 Measures.

We will respond to all rights requests within a reasonable timeframe (typically 30 calendar days).

11. Cross-Border Transfers

Aquaon Inc. may use Service Providers or store data servers located outside of Canada. If your Personal Information is transferred to or processed in a foreign jurisdiction (such as the United States), it will be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including any laws that permit government authorities to access your information.

We will ensure that any transfer of data outside of Canada is protected by contractual safeguards, encryption, and other necessary measures to maintain a comparable level of protection to that provided under Canadian law.

12. Children’s Privacy
